Werner Vogd

Prof. Dr. Werner Vogd studied biology and cultural anthropology, received his doctorate in 1995 with a thesis on the epistemology of Theravada Buddhism and habilitated in 2004 with the topic \”Medical decision-making processes of the hospital in the field of tension between system and purpose rationality\” (Venia legendi for sociology). After working at the Free University of Berlin and the LMU Munich, he has been Professor of Sociology at the University of Witten/Herdecke with a focus on culture, organization, and religion since 2008. Current research projects: \”Buddhism in the West\”, \”Decision Making in Hospital Management\”, \”Sociotherapy in Forensic Psychiatry\” (all funded by the German Research Foundation).
