Daniel Auf der Mauer

Daniel Auf der Mauer has studied photography at Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst in Zürich, Switzerland. In his work as a freelance photographer, Daniel photographs documentary stories and portraits for international publications such as The New York Times, Der Spiegel, GEO and many more.
In 2012 he published his photo book MZAYNA in collaboration with Anina Gmür – a long-term documentary about the slow demise of traditional bedouin culture. MZAYNA is published by Benteli Publishers and was shortlisted for the prestigious German Photo Book Award 2013.
In 2015 Daniel has published his first short documentary film: NOBODY\’S WOMEN – Breaking the Silence: Sexual Abuse in India, which was featured in the group exhibition \”Best of Contemporary Visual Journalism\” in 2016 in Zürich and also in the exhibition \”Bildgewaltig: Frauenportraits\” in 2017 in Basel. 
Furthermore, NOBODY\’S WOMEN has won the \”real21\” financial grant of the Swiss Foreign Minstry and has been awarded an honorable mention by the Visura Multimedia Grant.

In the last five years Daniel has completed further education in personal development, relational intelligence, trauma–informed conflict transformation and conflict psychology as well as systemic constellation work, relational somatic awareness methods such as Transparent Communication® and meditation.  He also holds a master’s degree in mediation and conflict management and is a systemic coach, conflict counsellor M.A., mediator and group facilitator.
